District 9 Team Member Spotlight

Ryan Spass, Director of Continuous Improvement

Ryan has been working in education in the Bronx since 2005 (nine years as a teacher), first as a math and journalism teacher at M.S. 391 in District 10 and then as a math teacher/school programmer at Bronx High School for Law and Community Service on the Theodore Roosevelt Campus.

Before joining District 9 in 2016, Ryan earned his school building leader license from Columbia University Teachers College and worked as a math instructional coach for Teaching Matters, supporting K-12 schools across the borough.

As the Director of School Renewal and Director of Continuous Improvement for District 9, Ryan supports schools with instruction, planning, leadership development and creating and refining systems and structures.

On top of that, he's been a Yankees fan since 1981.
